Something new has come to Lexington winter dining: The Lost Palm has added a customized Airstream to its roof.
The sleek, silver 1977 trailer was hoisted on top of the seven-story Manchester Hotel at 941 Manchester St. Nov. 11 and is now available to book for private dining for six to 10 people, according to Michael Hatton, area director of sales and marketing for The Manchester.
The space is cozy, with banquette seating that enhances the special menu from Chef Paula Endara.
“The Airstream will ‘travel around the world,’ with a rotating menu probably once a month,” Hatton said.
For December, the menu is European. It starts with a Scotch egg from Great Britain, followed by pulpo a la gallega and citrus salad from Spain, French onion soup from France, veal and agnalotti from Italy and finally individual black forest chocolate cakes from Germany.
Next month, it will move on to a new culinary locale.
You can book the Airstream for dining for $95 per person for a five-course meal; cocktail and wine pairings can be added on, starting at $135 per person total.

Hatton said plans had been in the works for nearly two years to provide this unique dining experience and capitalize on the mostly empty rooftop outside the Lost Palm’s bar in the winter.
“We had a glass house, which we called a treehouse, for private dining,” he said. To make room, they moved out some planters and set the trailer down for at least a few months.
“We’re debating if we will keep it year-round,” Hatton said. “Right now we’re thinking we’d like to do it as an annual event.”
