A growing burger chain from the people behind Texas Roadhouse is looking to add a third Lexington location before the second is up and running.
Jaggers, which opened its first location in August just off Nicholasville Road, has a second under construction at 3029 Richmond Road, near that Kroger.
Now, the company has applied for permits to build a third restaurant off of Newtown Pike and Citation, in the Newtown Springs development that includes the newest Kroger Marketplace.
According to the plans filed with the city, the restaurant has applied for a permit for a drive-thru that would be accessed from Newtown Center Way.
Jaggers media relations said via email there was no timeline yet for opening the restaurant coming to the Newtown area.
What’s on menu at Jaggers: Burgers, chicken tenders
Jaggers’ menu features double-stack burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders and sandwiches, chopped salads with signature dressing and thick milkshakes.
A black bean veggie burger ($7.29) is also available; it’s vegetarian but not vegan. Made in-house, it’s definitely a step above the norm for fast-casual veggie burgers, made with black beans, quinoa, diced beets and sliced mushrooms.
