Two locations of the Mexican restaurant known as Papi’s have reopened under the name Casa Rosita.

The restaurants at 3901 Fountainblue Lane in Palomar and 1988 Stockton Way just off Citation Boulevard announced on April 26 that they were open. Until recently, they had been known as Papi’s. Two other locations — one on Euclid and one on South Broadway — appear to still be closed.

On April 9, Marcos Jesus Banulos Valdes, who had been listed as the owner of the restaurants, was charged with 21 counts of sexually abusing a teenager, including 17 counts of third-degree rape and four counts of third-degree sodomy involving a 17-year-old victim.

Now, the Palomar and Stockton Way locations have rebranded, and it appears that a family member is now operating them.

Both locations of Casa Rosita were registered with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s office on April 22 with Rosa E. Huynh listed as the incorporator. She previously was known as Rosa Valdes.

Huynh did not return calls to the restaurants or respond to messages.

Valdes has been released from the Fayette County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. He is barred from contacting the victim.

According to the criminal complaint, Lexington police were informed of the sexual abuse March 27. The victim’s mother told police her child disclosed they had been sexually assaulted by Valdes multiple times between July 2025 and February 2026. The victim also provided evidence to police.
