Coffee chain with New Orleans flavors is coming to Kentucky. Where to try it now
A coffee chain known for its New Orleans roots and flavors is spreading out in the Bluegrass.
PJ’s Coffee, which offers New Orleans-themed specialty drink flavors such as King Cake, Southern Pecan and Praline & Cream, will be coming to seven Estepp Energy gas station and convenience store locations in and around Lexington.
“Over the years, we’ve always looked for ways to make our stores better and provide our guests with stronger food and beverage options,” said Steve Estepp in a news release. “The beverage category has changed tremendously over the last decade, and we saw an opportunity to launch a higher-quality, distinctive coffee concept in our stores. PJ’s Coffee stood out to us because the product is excellent, and the brand has a strong reputation throughout the Southeast — plus, the flexible format truly made it a seamless fit with our stores.”
PJ’s Coffee is known for its cold-brew, and also offers café au lait made with chicory, as well as beignets for more New Orleans flavor.
The new in-store coffee kiosks are expected to open later this year, but you can try the Louisiana-based chain now at the location on the University of Kentucky campus inside the Gatton Business School at 555 S. Limestone.
The new locations and formats are still under consideration, but some will include full cafés with drive-thru options.
Estepp Energy operates more than 13 convenience stores across Central Kentucky and continues expanding its portfolio with complementary brands including Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Little Caesars, and now PJ’s Coffee.
