Several Kentucky grocery stores close early for July 4. What about liquor stores?
It could be for a packet of hot dog buns or ingredients for your favorite summer cocktail, whatever the reason, there’s a good chance you might need to run to the store for your Fourth of July celebrations this weekend.
Independence Day isn’t a good one for running errands, with banks and post offices closed. Still, if you need to make a last-minute trip to the grocery or liquor store, it pays to know which ones are closing up early.
That’s especially true for grocery chains, which are more likely to be on modified hours or closed altogether. Costco Wholesale is one such example. Regular Costco shoppers should make their trips before July Fourth, as it’s closed for the holiday.
To save you a wasted trip, we’ve called around or checked online to confirm holiday hours for several major Lexington retailers.
Fourth of July liquor store hours for Lexington stores
Compared to some grocery stores, Lexington shoppers are more likely to find flexible hours when shopping for liquor on the Fourth of July.
Liquor Barn, which has several Lexington locations, will be operating on its regular hours Friday.
The same is true for Total Wine & More, which is open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
For smaller liquor outlets, check with the store about hours.
Which Lexington grocery stores will have modified hours?
As mentioned, Costco will be closed, but several other grocery chains will have modified hours, too. They include:
Aldi, which closes early at 4 p.m. on Independence Day.
Sam’s Club closes early at 6 p.m. for Club and Plus members.
Trader Joe’s will close at 5 p.m. for the holiday, per its website.
