Pedestrian critically injured during a collision on Winchester Road in Lexington

A pedestrian was critically injured in a collision on Winchester Road Friday morning, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The collision happened around 7:18 a.m. in the outbound lanes of Winchester Road prior to New Circle Road. Police said the pedestrian was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police didn’t say what caused the crash. The Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the collision.

Police said the driver was cooperative at the scene and charges are not expected at this time.
