‘We will miss this beautiful community.’ Another restaurant at The Summit closes

World of Beer, a chain restaurant which was located in The Summit at Fritz Farm, announced its permanent and immediate closure on Facebook Tuesday.

The restaurant wrote in the post, “We will miss this beautiful community and all the wonderful people we’ve come to know here. Thank you for your patronage, your support over the years, and your friendships. We will miss all of you.”

The nationwide franchise chain opened a location at The Summit in July 2017 and offered a wide selection of local beer.

It’s one of a few restaurants in The Summit to close its doors recently. Two restaurants at The Summit closed in 2021 — Steel City Pops and Whiskey Bear. Whiskey Bear was the last original tenant of The Barn at The Summit.

But The Summit has announced new business in recent weeks, with three new retailers slated to move into the shopping center in the coming months.

According to its website, World of Beer started in 2007 when two best friends came up with the idea in the Westchase neighborhood in Tampa, Fla. There are now 48 World of Beer locations across the country but only one in Kentucky.
