It’s summertime, which means vacations are top of mind, and airports are busy.

Blue Grass Airport (LEX) is a small hub airport and in 2025, set a record for serving 1,614,053 passengers in the calendar year, according to a traffic report. The height of passengers at LEX per month came during summer travel months.

Traveling during the summer can be stressful with busier airports, children if you are traveling with family and of course the worry of missing a connecting flight.

Blue Grass Airport offers nonstop flights to 18 destinations serviced by American Airlines, Delta, United and Allegiant.

Here are the nonstop flights out of LEX that can ease the stress of missing your second flight.

Nonstop flights from Blue Grass

Four of the destinations are seasonal nonstop flights with three in service during the summer months, according to Blue Grass Airport Community Relations Manager Lauren Simmerman.

  • Nonstop flights to both Myrtle Beach and Destin run from May through the middle of August with the final nonstop flight scheduled to Myrtle Beach on Sunday, Aug. 16, and the final nonstop flight to Destin on Monday, Aug. 17.
  • Nonstop Delta flights to Minneapolis were originally scheduled for the summer months similarly to Myrtle Beach and Destin, Simmerman said, but have been extended into the fall due to high demand.
  • While nonstop flights to Miami are also seasonal, they run from December through March to service passengers during the winter travel months.
  • During COVID-19, many nonstop flights were eliminated due to the restrictions on air travel. Airports are still recovering from the decline, including Blue Grass which brought back the nonstop flights to LaGuardia in New York n May 2025, according to previous Herald-Leader reporting.

Operating on a “pretty consistent” basis, nonstop flights usually take off around the same time each day a flight is scheduled, Simmerman said.
