Daughter of Fayette teacher killed in Scott County crash has also died, sheriff says
A second person in a deadly crash on I-75 in Scott County last Wednesday has died, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
Emma Keyser 21, died Tuesday afternoon at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said. She was the daughter of Debra Keyser, who died in the crash instantly.
Debra Keyser was a special education teacher at Wellington Elementary, according to the Fayette County Public Schools website.
The accident took place near the 122 mile marker around 7 p.m. last Wednesday. The sheriff’s office said the vehicle driven by Debra left the west side of I-75 southbound and struck a tree.
Emma was immediately transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office said a second vehicle was involved in the accident as well. WKYT reports Donald Duhamell was charged with DUI after that crash.
According to Emma’a Facebook page, she began working as a preschool teacher’s assistant at Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Beaumont in August. She was also a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School.
