Lexington police seek help finding ‘armed and dangerous’ homicide suspect
The Lexington Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man connected to a recent homicide.
Jeffrey Ollie, 22, has warrants for complicity to murder and tampering with physical evidence, police said. The charges are connected to the death of 27-year-old Daievyon Elliott, who was found shot inside a vehicle in the back parking lot of a residence on Fairmont Court in January.
Police said Ollie should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact Lexington police at 859-258-3600.
Anonymous tips can be submitted to Bluegrass Crime Stoppers by calling 859-253-2020 or by filling out an anonymous online form.
Ollis is the third suspect to be named in the investigation, along with Darrion Saliford, 22, and Brooklyn Trigg, 21. Saliford is charged with complicity to murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, while Trigg is charged with complicity to murder and tampering with physical evidence, according to court records.
Saliford and Trigg are each being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on a $750,000 bond, according to jail records.
Court documents say Saliford, Trigg and Ollie were all involved in the homicide. Trigg, who was inside the vehicle when the shooting occurred, allegedly met Saliford and Ollie beforehand and communicated with Ollie after it happened.
Elliott was shot on both sides of his body, and investigators said they found two kinds of shell casings at the scene, indicating two shooters were involved, according to court documents. Ollie told investigators he and Saliford were together in the area of the shooting, and surveillance footage shows the suspects’ vehicle arriving before the shooting and fleeing afterward.
Saliford and Trigg are scheduled to appear in Fayette District Court Thursday for a preliminary hearing, according to court records.
