Police have found a car that they suspect was involved in a fatal shooting at a Lexington strip club.

Officers found the red Dodge Avenger late Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot off Rogers Road, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Roberts declined to say whether officers had identified the car's owner, or what they might have found in the vehicle.

Police are still looking for five men who fled in a Dodge Avenger after the shooting early Wednesday morning in the parking lot at the Divas Gentlemen's Club on Russell Cave Road.

Curtis Simmons, 33, died of gunshot wounds.

Police said an argument in the club led to a violent confrontation in the parking lot, and Simmons was shot. They said a bystander who knew Simmons fired shots at Simmons' assailant.

Roberts declined to say whether police intend to charge the bystander.
