Man charged in death of infant son had second dead baby in his car, Ohio cops say
An Ohio father charged in the 2017 death of his infant son had a second baby “mummified” in his vehicle, according to police and media reports.
After Toledo police arrested 33-year-old Jacob Cisneros and his wife, 34-year-old Jenna Cisneros, last week for their alleged role in the death of the baby boy found dead three years ago, they found a second dead infant, according to a news release.
A baby girl’s body was found Monday in a different car than where the boy’s body was discovered in 2017, according to WTOL-TV. The second body was discovered after a search warrant was issued for the car after the parents were jailed, WTOL reported.
Additional charges have not been filed in relation to the discovery of the girl, whose body was “mummified,” the Lucas County Coroner told WNWO-TV.
It’s unclear if the second baby is related to the boy who was found dead three years ago.
The boy, believed to be 2 months old or less, had been left inside a car that was sitting idle “for a long period of time,” according to police. Police said the parents put the baby in the vehicle sometime in early 2017, and someone reported finding the infant later that May, according to WTVG.
Police finally connected the parents to the first death with the help of private company AdvanceDNA, which determined they were the parents of the boy, WTOL reported.
“We checked birth records, we checked whatever leads came in, we checked the neighborhood and we kind of were at a zero for quite a while,” Lt. Dan Gerken said during a news conference last week, according to WNWO.
Jacob and Jenna Cisneros have been charged with endangering children and involuntary manslaughter and are being held in jail on $500,000 bonds, the Toledo Blade reported.
Police do not know the names of either baby and are calling them John Doe and Jane Doe.
The Cisneroses have three other children, who are in custody of other family members, the Toledo Blade reported..
