Lottery player ‘switches things up’ and scores big Maryland jackpot. ‘Blessed’
Though a Maryland lottery player typically sticks to Keno, “he decided to switch things up.”
The Baltimore County man bought two scratch-off tickets at a Baltimore liquor store, Maryland Lottery officials said in a Sept. 23 news release.
As the man scratched his $100,000 Ca$h ticket inside the store, he noticed a “win” symbol, lottery officials said. Tickets for the $100,000 Ca$h game cost $30.
He won the game’s top prize of $100,000, leaving him feeling “happy” and “blessed,” according to lottery officials.
The man shared “the news with his wife of 18 years,” who “was just as pleased and excited” as he was, the man told lottery officials.
The man, a long-time correctional officer, said he might use some of his winnings to pay for college classes, adding that he and his wife may also use the money toward a “nice vacation,” lottery officials said.
