One lucky Kentucky Lottery player holds a ticket worth a whopping $25K a year for life

One lottery playing Kentuckian seemingly has what can only be described as incredible luck.

In a release Tuesday afternoon, the Kentucky Lottery said Saturday’s Lucky for Life drawing produced a big winner — a ticket that has earned its holder $25,000 a year for the rest of their life.

The ticket was purchased online at the state’s lottery website, the agency said, and has not been claimed.

The winning numbers in the June 15 drawing were 2, 7, 8, 12, 21 and Lucky Ball 16.

In Lucky for Life, players have two chances of winnings “for life,” according to the game’s rules. Each play is $2, and players must select five numbers between one and 48 and a Lucky Ball, numbered one through 18. There is a quick pick option available, and the drawing occurs daily.

Prizes in the game range from $4 all the way to $1,000 a day for the rest of your life, with a minimum payment period of 20 years, the lottery reports.

The second grand prize, the one captured by Saturday’s big winning ticket, offers $25,000 a year for life, with odds of the win at 1 in 1,813,028. To win the second top prize, the ticket must match the five white balls. Its cash option is worth $390,000.

If you are Kentucky’s luck winner, the lottery reminds you to sign the back of your ticket and keep it in a secure location. You must claim your prize within 180 days of the drawing.

To claim, visit Kentucky Lottery’s Louisville headquarters at 1011 W. Main St. or call 1-877-789-4532.

This is not the first time a Kentucky player has taken the $25,000 per year prize on Lucky for Life. In 2019, a Lexington resident became Kentucky’s largest online winner at the time with the same win.
