This is it, the showdown between two finalists in our subscriber poll to crown the cutest cat in Kentucky.

Over the last several weeks, we’ve asked our subscribers to help us find the most adorable cat in the commonwealth.

In our initial call-out, we solicited submissions from our readers and got more than 100 entries. Several rounds of voting and eliminations have all led to this momen, when our subscribers will determine Kentucky’s reigning champion.

Last week, we asked our subscribers to narrow the field to a final two competitors. A total of 1,000 participants voted in last week’s poll. Here’s a breakdown of the results for the final four:

  1. Millie - 306 votes
  2. Lily - 264 votes
  3. Zsu Zsu - 220 votes
  4. Daffy - 210 votes

Our finalists this week are Millie, a 1-year-old orange tabby described as having a heart of gold, and Lily, a contemplative, 14-year-old domestic longhair. In this final round, we’re asking our subscribers to vote for the most adorable among the two, as difficult as the decision may be. The winner between these two will be featured in a Herald-Leader article.

Subscribers may vote as many times as they like before the poll closes at noon Friday, Nov. 1. After that, no additional votes will be tallied. As a reminder, this poll isn’t scientific, and is just for fun.

Before you vote in the poll, here’s a closer look at each of the two finalists to help you decide.
