Summer storms, winter temperatures to blanket Lexington. Here’s when to expect it
Lexington could experience quite a range of weather this weekend.
Forecasts say Friday’s calm, warm weather will give way Saturday, Oct. 18 to summer temperatures and possible thunderstorms. By Sunday evening, temperatures could plummet to the 30s.
Daytime Saturday will see partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low- to mid-80s, approaching a 1938 record for the day of 87 degrees Fahrenheit, according to AccuWeather. Clouds will define the evening, according to forecasts, as temperatures drop to the low 60s. There is a low chance of precipitation in the evening as Kentucky takes on Texas at home, and heavier rain could roll in after midnight.
Sunday, Oct. 19 will start off rainy with stronger wind gusts and possible thunderstorms, according to forecasts, as a large system moves east. Cool daytime temperatures will become cold by the evening, as the rain clears and thermometers register temperatures in the low 40s or high 30s.
Forecasts say the weather will mellow out by Monday, but the area could see its first frost of the season next week, forecasters say.
