Introducing Jeremy Chisenhall & Taylor Six
We want you, our readers, to know who it is that’s bringing you the news you’re reading here at the Lexington Herald-Leader. You’ve likely seen the names that accompany a story, but that’s still a bit impersonal.
Over the next several weeks, we’ll introduce you to the reporters, editors, producers and other staffers who work here at the Herald-Leader — the folks who work hard to bring you the news you’ve come to rely on and trust over the years.
This week, we’re thrilled to introduce you to two more people.
Jeremy Chisenhall
Hi, I’m Jeremy Chisenhall, the Herald-Leader’s breaking news editor. I oversee the paper’s coverage on crime and public safety.
Prior to being the paper’s breaking news editor, I covered breaking news and criminal justice as a reporter. In the past few years, our team has provided frequent coverage of weather disasters and tragic incidents of violent crime. While the incidents are often difficult and sad, I couldn’t be more proud of the work our staff has done to bring y’all the important information in every story.
But we cover the heartwarming stories too – like Kentucky residents helping each other out amid long power outages, or local stars getting opportunities to shine in pop culture. And in a local paper’s newsroom, sometimes you get the chance to become the resident expert on your favorite topics – like the Cincinnati Bengals or Formula 1 racing. Want to pass along a tip? You can reach me at jchisenhall@herald-leader.com.

Taylor Six
Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Six and I am the criminal justice reporter for the Herald-Leader. I cover crime, courts, breaking news and the carceral system. I was born and raised in Lexington, and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
I am thrilled to be back working in my hometown to share stories and shed light on the ins and outs of the criminal legal system. I am passionate about covering the impacts of mental health and substance use disorder and how it relates to those impacted by the courts. If you have a news tip, or are curious about our coverage, feel free to email me at tsix@herald-leader.com.
