Once again, it’s time for Kentucky to step into the professional golf spotlight.
The PGA Tour arrives in the commonwealth this week for the 2025 edition of the ISCO Championship, Kentucky’s annual PGA Tour event.
Plenty is changing this year with the ISCO, which will be held from Thursday through Sunday. After being contested at Champions at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville since 2018, the event is moving this year to Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville. Hurstbourne is a private, member-owned club on Louisville’s east side that was founded in 1966 and originally designed by Chick Adams.
Formerly known as the Barbasol Championship, this is the second year the event will carry naming-rights sponsorship from ISCO Industries, a total piping solutions provider based in Louisville.
It also appears that the PGA Tour is making a long-term commitment to keeping the ISCO Championship in Kentucky. The event was previously held in Alabama from 2015-17, before it moved to Central Kentucky in 2018.
“We’re committed to creating something really special. And you don’t do that on a two-, three- or four-year basis. You do it over time, and we’ve started that,” Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour’s commissioner, told the Herald-Leader earlier this year.
A field of 156 golfers is set to compete in this year’s ISCO Championship, including a significant number of golfers from the DP World Tour. The tournament is part of the PGA Tour’s partnership with the DP World Tour, which is the top men’s professional golf tour in Europe.
The ISCO Championship will carry a $4 million purse and will award 300 points toward the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup. The ISCO will take place at the same time as the Genesis Scottish Open, which is a premier tune-up event prior to next week’s Open Championship in Northern Ireland, the final men’s golf major of the year.
Here’s a look at the announced field of 156 golfers for the 2025 ISCO Championship at Hurstbourne.
