Who among the hundreds of Kentucky boys’ and girls’ high school basketball teams will win their respective regions and earn a trip to Rupp Arena for the Sweet 16 state tournaments?

The journalists who have been voting in this season’s new Kentucky High School Basketball Media Polls have some ideas.

Organized by the Courier Journal’s Jason Frakes, these journalists have made their picks on every boys’ and girls’ region champion even though those tournaments are more than a week away.

The Mingua Beef Jerky Girls’ Sweet 16 is set for March 8-11. The UK Healthcare Boys’ Sweet 16 will be held March 15-18.

Here are the media voters: Chelsea Parker, The Paducah Sun; Scott Brown, YourSportsEdge.com/WKDZ-FM; Mark Mathis, Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer; Micheal Compton, Bowling Green Daily News; Josh Claywell, Bardstown Kentucky Standard/LaRue County Herald News; Dominique Yates, WLKY-TV; Jason Frakes, Courier Journal; Josiah Koenig, Oldham Era; James Weber, Cincinnati Enquirer; Evan Dennison, LinkNKY.com; Jared Peck, Lexington Herald-Leader; Mike Marsee, Danville freelancer; Les Dixon, 13thRegionMediaNetwork.com; John Lowe, WYMT-TV; Randy White, Pikeville Appalachian News-Express; Matthew Sparks, Ashland Daily Independent.
