Scouting report: Louisville
The Cardinals are 6-4 under former Charleston coach Pat Kelsey, who replaced former UK assistant Kenny Payne. Louisville owns wins over Indiana and West Virginia, but that was with Kasean Pryor, now out for the season with a torn ACL. The shorthanded Cardinals lost 76-65 to Duke last Sunday but defeated UTEP 77-74 on Wednesday.
James Madison transfer Terrence Edwards has come on of late. He’s scored 43 points in U of L’s last two games. KenPom has Louisville ranked 60th in adjusted overall efficiency. The Cardinals rank 81st in adjusted offensive efficiency and 43rd in adjusted defensive efficiency. U of L is making just 27% of its 3-point shots, which ranks 341st in Division I.

Scouting report: Kentucky
Kentucky is 8-1 for new coach Mark Pope, the former Wildcat who was previously head coach at BYU and Utah Valley. UK followed a scintillating 90-89 overtime win at Gonzaga with a “weird” 78-67 victory over Colgate on Wednesday night at Rupp.
The Cats are 10th in KenPom’s adjusted overall efficiency rankings. They rank ninth in adjusted offensive efficiency and 30th in adjusted defensive efficiency. Sharpshooter Koby Brea is coming off a 17-point game against Colgate in which the Dayton transfer made five of his eight 3-point shots.
