Gator nuggets, po’boys and crawfish: New Lexington Cajun seafood boil restaurant opens

There’s a new place on the west side of town to get your seafood boil fix.

The Creole Cafe opened earlier this month on Georgetown Street. The menu features lots of Creole-style seafood, Cajun seafood boil and po’boy sandwiches.

Fried oysters, crab cakes, fried fish and even deep fried gator nuggets are available, as well as crawfish, shrimp, lobster tail and crab boil, Creole cheese fries and more.

Owner and chef Seneca Hudson has a background in culinary arts and cooks everything that goes out the door.

“I prep everything from the lobster mac and cheese to Creole spicy baked beans,” she said. “Every order is made to order. ... The new word I’m hearing is that it is ‘slapping!’ I hope that’s a compliment.”

While Creole Cafe does not have seating inside, there is limited covered outdoor seating. Orders are available for carryout and for delivery via Door Dash. You can place an order via online ordering through Facebook or Instagram, or order in person and wait.

It usually takes 15 minutes or less to cook the fresh seafood, she said.

While there was a seafood boil restaurant called Seafood Lady of Lexington at this location, the two are not affiliated. The Seafood Lady closed in March.
