Fast food chain continues Central Kentucky expansion with new restaurant opening

A new-to-Richmond fast food chain is opening in the Central Kentucky town.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is opening its first location in Richmond at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 16. The new restaurant is located at 863 Eastern Bypass, near Hobby Lobby and Menards.

The fast-casual restaurant chain specializes in bowls, tacos and burritos made to order in front of the customer. The new location is part of a massive expansion of Chipotle restaurants in recent years in Central Kentucky. New locations have opened or opening soon in Lexington, Georgetown, Frankfort and Nicholasville.

The new Richmond location will feature a “Chipotlane,” a drive-thru pick-up lane that allows guests to pick up digital orders without leaving their cars. It will also have the restaurant’s new high protein menu with dishes that range from 15 to 81 grams of protein per item.
