Coffee and doughnuts, finally: When Lexington’s newest Dunkin’ is opening

If you’ve been driving by a certain Richmond Road restaurant location and wondered if they ever going to open that Dunkin’ Donuts, the answer is ... yes.

Dunkin’ Donuts will open at 2890 Richmond Rd. in mid-December, according to Gary Holland, of One Holland.

The location was the site of LaRosa’s Family Pizzeria. It closed in July 2023 after four years in business.

The Dunkin’ Donuts coffee shop will sit between One Holland’s First Watch and Skyline Chili restaurants. It will have a drive-thru as well as indoor seating.

Dunkin’ will join a row of coffee options on Richmond Road, where at least one shop closed last year: The Common Grounds Coffee House at 290a Richmond Rd. Unit 160 closed in November 2023.

But there is still plenty of competition including:

The Human Bean drive-thru kiosk at 2644 Richmond Rd., which serves specialty coffees, real-fruit smoothies, teas and breakfast items to go.

7 Brew drive-thru kiosk at 2895 Richmond Rd.

Panera Bread at 2887 Richmond Rd. Suite 110, with a drive-thru.

Krispy Kreme at 2893 Richmond Rd. where you can get doughnuts hot and fresh daily.

Starbucks at 2703 Richmond Rd. near the intersection with Old Todds Road.
