The University of Kentucky has played against the No. 1-ranked team in The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll 19 times in its history.

Opportunity No. 20 will come Saturday at Georgia.

The Bulldogs, 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference this season, have won the College Football Playoff national championship the past two seasons and have been ranked No. 1 this year since the AP published its preseason poll in August.

Twentieth-ranked Kentucky (5-0, 2-0) travels to Athens to face Georgia on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.

The Wildcats are 3-16 all-time against No. 1 teams. Their most recent win over a top-ranked team came in 2007 when UK toppled LSU 43-37 in three overtimes in Lexington.

Kentucky fans stormed the field in jubilation after the Wildcats upset No. 1-ranked LSU 43-37 in three overtimes on Oct. 13, 2007, in Lexington. UK has not defeated a No. 1 team in eight attempts since then but will have another go at it Saturday night against Georgia in Athens.
